Very Rare Civil War Sketch & Letter with Envelope. Sketch called "Group of Rebel Prisoners made by W. Newman, a Confederate prisoner at Elmira Prison Camp on September 10, 1864. On back of the primary sketch is another sketch called "Views from Exterior of Rebel Camp, Elmira. The sketch was presented by the artist to Prentice P. Norman, then a clerk in the Elmira Post Office, in recognition of service rendered. The letter was written by an Elmira Prison Camp prisoner and was routed through the Elmira Post Office.
