"Fun at the Bridge" by Santos Zingale

Santos Zingale was born in Milwaukee, and remained in Wisconsin for the majority of his career. He attended Lincoln High School in Milwaukee and after graduating attended the Milwaukee State Teachers College. He received his graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.
As a young artist, Zingale worked on murals and easel paintings for the WPA Federal Art Projects. In 1953 he completed a mural for Marquette University in Milwaukee. During his 30-year tenure as a professor at the University of Wisconsin, he traveled abroad to Italy to work and study on three separate occasions; the spring semester in 1963, a five month period in 1967, and again in 1971. Santos Zingale died in 2000.
